Meet TCHNetwork’s New Vistas (Part 2)

Hello all, my name is Erich Lange the new Program Analyst with Tri-County Health Network. Since graduating from Cazenovia College with a B.A. in International Studies and a minor in Economics, I spent time working as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon, West Africa for six months. After returning to the United States I decided to continue working toward eradicating poverty by becoming an AmeriCorps VISTA with Tri-County Health Network which brought me to Telluride. My first week here has been amazing; between transitioning into my office environment and doing a little spring skiing life has been great!

Since transitioning from life abroad, I have noticed incredible similarities exist between rural communities in Western Africa and rural communities here in the United States; affordable healthcare being a number one obstacle in both. With the recent changes to the healthcare system in America it is a scary and sensitive subject affecting more people than we know. I am looking forward to navigating the healthcare system as best as I can and assisting my colleagues in hopes of helping those in need.
