Shed Supervisor (Part-Time)

The Shed Supervisor oversees the daily operations of The Shed, a youth hangout space in Telluride. This position ensures the space is safe, inclusive, and well-utilized by youth and partner organizations. Responsibilities include supervising drop-in hours, creating some programming, coordinating scheduling with outside groups, and ensuring proper maintenance and safety protocols are followed.

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) 
Schedule: 20 hours/week, flexible hours with some evenings/weekends 
Location: Telluride, CO (Hybrid – in person up to 3 shifts at The Shed) 
Starting Wage: $23.50/hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise drop-in hours and create a safe, engaging space for youth 
  • Maintain daily oversight of Shed activities, supplies, and safety protocols 
  • Coordinate a calendar of partner programming, aiming for 5–7 days/week usage 
  • Communicate with external organizations and ensure supervision standards are met 
  • Monitor and report maintenance or safety issues 
  • Manage basic inventory and ordering of program supplies 
  • Support youth events and activities hosted in space 
  • Attend conferences and training opportunities aimed at supporting youth development 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ year experience working with youth or supervising youth spaces 
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in a dynamic environment 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills 
  • Comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supervising youth in informal or structured settings 
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills 
  • Familiarity with youth programming and safety protocols 
  • Calm, dependable, and responsive to emerging issues 
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

CTC Youth Coordinator (Part-Time)

The Youth Coordinator supports youth-led club work using the Communities That Care (CTC) prevention framework. This position focuses on youth leadership, substance misuse prevention, and improving overall youth wellbeing. The Youth Coordinator works directly with middle and high school students to recruit diverse youth participants, facilitates CTC youth club meetings, organizes trainings, while serving as a liaison between students, schools, families, and the broader community and coalition.

  • Organize and deliver mental health and prevention trainings (e.g., QPR, TMHFA) 
  • Collaborate with TMHS, families, and local stakeholders to strengthen support 
  • Develop outreach and prevention materials (social media, flyers, etc.) 
  • Attend CTC coalition meetings and represent youth interests 
  • Accurately document program participation and outcomes  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ year experience in youth development, education, public health, or a related field 
  • Experience with youth leadership or development programs 
  • Group facilitation and public speaking experience 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, or social work (or equivalent experience) 
  • Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish/English) strongly preferred 
  • Familiarity with Telluride and surrounding communities 
  • Knowledge of positive youth development and prevention science 
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

Development Strategist – (Starting Summer 2025)

The Development Strategist plays a leading role in advancing the organization’s mission and sustainability through strategic fundraising, and donor engagement. In collaboration with the Co-Executive Directors, this person will be tasked with developing fundraising strategies and overseeing development activities including donor relations, major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, special events, and other fundraising efforts.

  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and campaign management.
  • In-depth knowledge of fundraising strategies and techniques, including major gifts, business partnerships, capital campaigns, and planned giving.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities to inspire donors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and donor data management.
  • Passion for and commitment to TCHN’s organizational mission, vision, and values. 

Other:

The target start date for this position is not until Summer 2025.

Requires regular local and regional travel. May require occasional state or national travel. Must have reliable transportation to travel as needed and be comfortable traveling in inclement weather. Valid driver’s license and car insurance required. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as applicable. Able to lift 50 pounds.

Location:

Requires in-person commitment at our main office in Telluride, CO. Hybrid position – 2 days per week in the Telluride office. May require occasional travel throughout San Miguel, Ouray, Montrose and Delta counties. No relocation assistance is available.

Pay Range: 

$70,000 – $75,000 annual salary depending on background and experience.

Shed Supervisor / Youth Coordinator

The Shed Supervisor and Youth Coalition Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of The Shed, a youth hangout space in Telluride, and coordinating youth coalition activities focused on substance misuse prevention, increasing protective factors, and promoting healthy youth development. This position combines direct supervision of The Shed with broader community engagement and youth leadership development.

The Shed Supervisor will be responsible for staffing and supervising The Shed three days per week, as well as overseeing all Shed operations, ensuring it is a welcoming, safe, and well-managed environment for middle and high school students. The role also includes creating and coordinating programming in collaboration with the Town of Telluride, with the goal of activating the space for youth-serving organizations five-seven days a week. 

Additionally, the Coordinator will recruit and support high school and middle school students to lead coalitions and workgroups using the Communities That Care (CTC) strength-based framework. This includes working closely with schools, parents, and community stakeholders to amplify youth voices and support youth-led initiatives that improve overall wellbeing and reduce substance misuse. 

The position also provides strategic and administrative support to the CTC Administrator, including action planning, program implementation, community engagement, and fostering youth leadership. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May include the following and other duties as assigned. 

Shed Operations & Oversight:

  • Oversee the general operations of The Shed in partnership with the Town of Telluride and Tri-County Health Network (TCHNetwork). 
  • Staff and supervise The Shed a minimum of three days per week, ensuring it is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for youth. 
  • Coordinate the use of the space by youth-serving organizations, aiming for regular programming seven days per week
  • Create and manage a schedule for external partners utilizing the space; ensure each organization provides adult supervision during use.
  • Report maintenance, safety, or operational issues to the CTC Administrator and Town of Telluride as needed. 
  • Manage and order supplies as needed. 

Youth Coalition & Community Engagement:

  • Recruit and support diverse youth leaders in CTC clubs at Telluride Public Schools. 
  • Ensure clubs reflect the student body and promote inclusive leadership. 
  • Coordinate with school sponsors to hold monthly meetings and center youth voices in CTC efforts.
  • Facilitate youth-led planning, problem-solving, and community engagement using a strength-based approach. 
  • Build strong relationships with schools, families, and community partners. 
  • Represent youth programs at CTC Coalition meetings and foster community-wide support. 

Training & Facilitation:

  • Complete training and become a certified facilitator in two Community Helper programs, such as QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) and Teen Mental Health First Aid (TMHFA)
  • Facilitate each of these training courses 2–4 times per year, providing critical mental health and crisis intervention education to youth, parents, educators, and community partners. Promote participation in these trainings as part of a broader youth wellness and prevention strategy. 

Program Development & Support:

  • Collaborate with the CTC Administrator to execute the CTC work plan and meet key milestones. 
  • Assist with the development of outreach and prevention education materials (e.g., posters, social media, newsletters). 
  • Communicate consistently with students, school sponsors, and coalition partners to keep youth engaged and informed. 
  • Help plan and facilitate community events that promote positive youth development and prevention messaging. 
  • Document programming and outreach in the management information system accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Participate in required trainings, including Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid, and ongoing professional development. 

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • At least one year of experience working in public health, community engagement, high or intermediate school, community organizing, youth development or relevant youth setting. 
  • Experience with public speaking and group facilitation, including the ability to foster participatory decision making and team building. 
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, Outlook and OneDrive or similar shared file system. 
  • Support grant reporting and evaluation efforts to demonstrate program outcomes and impact 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, or related field is preferred. 
  • Bilingual/bicultural Spanish speaker 
  • Love of working with teens/preteens, ideally in a mentor role 
  • Familiarity with the Telluride community and understanding of local issues. 
  • Knowledge and experience working in/with school districts or social service agencies in rural communities. 
  • Professional experience in coalition building and grassroots community engagement. 
  • Understanding of positive youth development and prevention science.
  • Proven experience of successful engagement with youth in a variety of settings.
  • Strong experience in communication, marketing, and community outreach.
  • Culturally responsive communication skills (in person, on the telephone, and through email correspondence)
