Alexa Calvo
The Shed Supervisor
Alexa Calvo serves as the Shed Supervisor for the new youth hangout space in Telluride. With over three years of experience working for Tri-County Health Network as the Communities That Care (CTC) high school intern, she has a solid foundation in community service. As the CTC intern, she helped to lead and grow the CTC youth club. She played a key role in attracting youth to club events, as well as collaborating with local organizations such as the Telluride Marshals and other nonprofits in Telluride. Known for her public speaking skills, Alexa has successfully expanded the club’s reach and inspired many students to join as interns themselves. She is a strong advocate for youth voices, action, leadership, and the importance of inclusion and mutual support. When she’s not working with youth, Alexa also works at a local restaurant and recently graduated from the Delta Technical College of the Rockies as an aspiring nail tech. She enjoys spending quality time with her dog, Twinkie, and often helps her dad with his business ventures.

Alison Johnson
Community Programs Lead - Energy Outreach Colorado & Crisis Funds
Ali has over 15 years of experience working in the Hospital Industry directly with the community clients and staff. In the Hospital Industry she gained knowledge and experience in insurance and medical billing. In these roles, she realized patients would benefit from guidance on medical applications, etc., which prompted her to shift to care coordination and insurance support. She cared for clients, connected with the community and advocated for it, as well as supervised caregivers. She found it very gratifying to work closely with families to ensure better health and social outcomes. Her journey led her to TCHNetwork and the Outreach Coordinator position, which enables her to continue serving the Delta community. An important part of her ​belief is to make sure that quality work is done, that common sense approaches are used, and that relationships are genuine and rewarding. In Ali's downtime she enjoys being outdoors, being with family, jeeping and following the road less traveled.

Amy Rowan
Co-Executive Director of Community Programs
Amy Rowan is a Director of Care Coordination. She has 30 years of working in various health care, non-profits, and the public health sector. During Amy’s time in care coordination, she has focused on health equity, developing resource guides, and educating the communities on what resources for support and services are available. Amy completed the Community Leaders in Health Equity course through the Colorado Trust. Amy is in the process of being credentialed for High Fidelity Wraparound. Amy is an expert on care coordination and resources for long-term care supports and services in our region and has been recognized by community partners. She believes health is more than health care and is passionate about addressing social determinants of health which will reduce health disparities and allow people to improve their health and wellness. In Amy’s downtime, she enjoys spending time with her kids and the San Juan Mountains and photographing their beauty.

Brianna Lafferty
Care Coordinator
Brianna Lafferty is a Care Coordinator. She has experience working in healthcare advocacy as a Death Doula, specializing in end-of-life care, grief, and spiritual support. During Brianna’s time as a Death Doula, she has excelled at guiding individuals and families through challenging health transitions, blending holistic care with medical needs. Brianna is an expert on navigating complex health systems and supporting patients' emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. She has certifications as a Death Doula, two award-winning books, and experience as a spiritual and grief coach. She is deeply committed to helping individuals live their best quality of life, believing in the importance of compassionate care for all. In her downtime, Brianna enjoys traveling, writing, cooking, and spending time outside.

Brook Reynolds
Skippy Dental Coordinator
Brook Reynolds is the Skippy Dental Coordinator. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Natural Resource Management. She also attended the University of Wyoming as a national exchange student, which greatly impacted her decision to move back to Wyoming and then Colorado. Before moving to Colorado, Brook worked as a Direct Support Staff at ARK Regional Services in Laramie for over 5 years. Brook worked as a barn manager and wrangler for several ranches before finding her job at ARK in Wyoming. She loves working with and helping people, especially children. She believes that all children should receive excellent dental care and dental education, regardless of their circumstances, location, or barriers. She has a passion for animals, especially horses, and anything outdoors. She enjoys hiking, camping, horseback riding, paddleboarding, cross-country skiing, and sledding in the winter!

Carol Schutter
Crisis Funds Navigator
Carol was born and raised in Gardner Massachusetts. Carol moved to Telluride in 1972. She had almost every job possible in the small ski town from Lift Operator to owning her own business along with her husband Wayne. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, Carol had the experience of working several years at the Telluride Medical Center. Empathetic and compassionate by nature, Carol joined Tri- County Health Network/ Telluride Foundation in 2009 to help the community members of San Miguel County, Ouray County, and Montrose County. She is dedicated and passionate to providing the best service possible for anyone who may need her assistance. The Good Neighbor Fund, Ouray County Response Fund, San Miguel Behavioral Health Fund, and the Town of Telluride Relief Fund are a few of the good neighbor funds Carol can tell you about. Carol enjoys walking her dogs in the mountains, working in her garden, riding her four-wheeler, and visiting the beach in Baja. On a slow Friday afternoon, you can find Carol on her deck with family and friends.

Caroline Shurtz
Behavioral Health Navigator and High-Fidelity Wraparound Family Support Partner
Caroline Shurtz is the Behavioral Health Navigator and High-Fidelity Wraparound Family Support Partner for San Miguel County. She is a Colorado native and grew up in Ouray County. She comes to us with a knowledge of education and the arts. Caroline taught elementary art and library in the West End of Montrose County, which has helped guide her toward the families, students, and communities that need positive support. She has 15+ years of hospitality and management experience that has shown her all different sides of people. Caroline’s passionate about working with new and creative ideas that inspire and make a change. When she is not busy working away, she enjoys being with her family outdoors and teaching them the values of nature and life.

Claudia Gamez
DELTA COMMUNITY ORGANIZER
As Community Organizer, Claudia Gamez serves Delta County residents with Medicaid & Enrollment needs, helps community members navigate complex systems, and mobilizes and empowers community members to identify their needs and collectively resolve them. Claudia is passionate about helping others and making a difference in their lives. She was born in Los Mochis Sinaloa Mexico and moved to Colorado at the age of 18. Claudia has worked in many different fields and has previous experience assisting with enrollment and navigation assistance for Montrose County residents with TCHNetwork. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her 3 boys and her beautiful daughter and her friends.

Christian is an accomplished community advocate with three years of experience in fostering engagement, focusing primarily on the migrant agriculture community. Her dedication to promoting mental health accessibility for the Latino community stems from her firm belief that everyone should have equal access to vital resources. This passion fuels her persistent efforts in advocating for her community's well-being. In her leisure time, Christian cherishes spending quality outdoor moments with her son, exploring the picturesque Ouray landscapes while enjoying their favorite music.

Cyndi Wargowsky
Patient Health Navigator
As a Patient Health Navigator and Diabetes Para-Professional at the Basin Medical Clinic, Cyndi provides education and support to patients by encouraging healthy lifestyle changes to improve their overall health and quality of life. She also facilitates other programs at the clinic, including the Fresh Food Rx Program, Chronic Care Management, New Eyes and Diabetes Support. Before joining Tri-County Health Network in 2016, Cyndi received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance/Management from the University of Northern Colorado and worked in the Denver corporate world for 20 years. After retiring, she lived abroad for 4 years before landing in SouthWest Colorado. Cyndi’s passion for helping people live their best lives led to her current career as a Health Navigator. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her off-roading, gardening and cooking with her husband on their Alpaca Ranch on Wright’s Mesa.

Communities That Care Manager
Dawn Katz serves as the Communities That Care Manager for TCHNetwork and has over two decades of experience working with children and families in San Miguel County. Throughout her 28 years in Telluride, Dawn primarily worked as an early childhood educator and director. Dawn believes that the collaboration, dedication, and hard work of a village are essential in creating a stronger community, particularly for our youth. In Dawn's downtime, she enjoys traveling, hiking, camping and spending time with friends and family at the lake.

Donna Diaz De La Cruz
Bilingual Community Programs Systems Navigator
As a Bilingual Community Programs Systems Navigator, Donna offers essential support to English and Spanish-speaking community members, assisting them with various programs that TCHNetwork offers. Donna gained valuable experience in Property Management and Corporate Translating, during her four years in Property Management, she witnessed the challenges faced by the Latino Community, which fueled her passion for advocacy and community support. Donna firmly believes that every positive action will be carried forward, benefiting others and creating a better world. She enjoys various outdoor activities, such as hiking, mushroom hunting, and relaxing by the river.

Heidi Gofforth
Marketing Coordinator
Heidi is our Marketing Coordinator. Heidi is a true Colorado native, graduating from Olathe High School and growing up in the Pea Green area. She achieved her business degree from Colorado Mesa University, Montrose Campus, and was a peer tutor at CMU, offering tutoring sessions for all undergraduate courses. Heidi has spent years volunteering for different organizations in our communities. The most rewarding for her was volunteering as a table hostess for the Altrusa organizations with her Grandmother. Heidi is another Spanish-speaking member of our team, which is very helpful. One thing is for sure, Heidi truly loves helping people. She considers herself a true local, a blessing to us as she knows our Tri-County area well. She is already bringing ideas and passion to TCHNetwork organization.
Jackie Kennefick
Human Resources Administrator
As Tri County's Human Resources Administrator, Jackie is responsible for recruiting, hiring and retaining team members. She is also responsible for compensation and benefit administration, training and development, performance management and employee engagement. Jackie also oversees the VISTA Team members, the volunteer program and serves as the acting Telluride office manager as well as performing some finance and accounting duties. Jackie has many years of experience working in human resources, town and county government and ski area management. She also has a strong sense of community and has volunteered for many festivals, served on local boards including the Town’s Planning & Zoning Commission, Rainbow Preschool Board President, was a KOTO community radio volunteer DJ as well as participating in TCHN’s Communities That Care. When not working, Jackie loves to travel, read, watch films, play Mah Jong and be in our amazing outdoors.

Jamie Hurst
Education and Awareness Programs Administrator
Jamie Hurst is the Education and Awareness Programs Administrator for Tri-County Health Network. She has worked for the past three years at a crisis walk-in center on the Western Slope, serving our communities through direct client care & management. In addition to community mental health & crisis work, Jamie has experience working with domestic violence advocates and Habitat for Humanity. She obtained an honors degree in Psychology and a minor in English from the Ohio State University. Jamie is honored to work with the Advocacy Team at TCHN and is looking forward to growing in the field. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, playing games with family & friends, and exploring with her husband.

Juanita White
Care Coordination Supervisor
Juanita serves as the Care Coordination Supervisor, where she orchestrates ongoing care conferences with clients and partners with community partners to effectively support the community while fostering trusting relationships. With six years of experience in community support, she previously worked at River Valley Family Health Centers as a Patient Health Navigator. Juanita’s core value is providing a sense of respect and self-worth to the community and advocating for the community members to have a voice. In her spare time, she enjoys spending moments with her family, caring for her pets, and reading a good book.

Julia Millan
Community Organizer
Originally from Mexico, Julia moved to Telluride full time in 2010 and is raising her four young children in a bilingual household. She previously worked in the Telluride School District. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and works concurrently at the Wilkinson Public Library.  She serves on the Board of Directors for Karma Tutors, the Telluride Education Foundation, and is an active member of the local coalitions Raíces Sin Fronteras as well as Acción Collaborativa para Inmigrantes. She is a leader in the local Latinx community and is known for her passion for supporting the mental health and sense of belonging of all who live and work here.  Julia was named Volunteer of the Year by the Telluride Foundation in 2022. She used this award to continue serving the local immigrant community by founding the crisis fund Fondo Unidos. Julia founded Telluride's first Latinx women's recreational softball team, which has had an incredibly positive impact on the women participating and the league as a whole. You can find Julia at the gym, hiking in the mountains, or at local events with her family.

Kimberly Meraz
Enrollment Specialist
As an Enrollment Specialist based in Delta. Kimberly Meraz enrolls English and Spanish-speaking clients in insurance programs and assists with other emergency program applications. During her time in this industry, she has helped many community members find the assistance and services they need. Being bilingual in this industry has allowed her to reach a wider range of people, breaking down barriers and allowing people to feel more confident and comfortable. In the long run, she wants to be able to build strong relationships and earn the community's trust. On her down time, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family and being active, such as running and playing volleyball.

Kaisa Simon
Health Equity Advocate
Kaisa is the Health Equity Advocate in Delta County for Tri-County Health Network. They have grown up in this Delta and Ridgway, and worked with the Delta, Montrose, and Ouray communities. During Kaisa's time in nonprofit work, they have put on large community gatherings such as Partners Palooza Music Festival, Ouray County Pride in the Park, and more. Kaisa started their work in health equity with the Colorado Collective Leadership Initiative where they spent a year working with a team across the state to design programming to make communities safer for rural LGBTQ+ Coloradoans. Kaisa believes in liberation for all through equitable action, leading with compassion and curiosity, and thinking outside the binary. In Kaisa's downtime, they enjoy being with loved ones on the water, gardening, and trying out new crafts.

Kerry Brock
Behavioral Health Administrator
Kerry is the Behavioral Health Administrator, working with the Behavioral Health Solutions Panel and administering the Behavioral Health Fund for San Miguel County. Kerry is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland. After moving to the US, she spent her childhood moving around the Northeast, before attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She graduated with dual degrees in Sociology and Political Economy. While in school, she spent her time working with people experiencing homelessness. After graduating, she decided to move to Telluride and become a lift operator. She spent four years working for Telluride Ski Resort before returning to the nonprofit world with TCHNetwork. She enjoys helping the panel find creative ways to expand behavioral health services in San Miguel County.  When she is not working, she can most likely be found outside skiing, biking, or hiking, preferably with her dog Luna.

Laine Stoker serves as a member of The Shed team through Communities that Care and Tri-County Health Network.  She aims to spread and grow community resources and connection. She has a background in team coaching for ages five to seventeen and is passionate about service with youth. She grew up in Washington, DC and holds a BA in environmental science as well as sustainable agriculture. She is personally interested in renewable consumption, particularly regarding Foodways in the US.  In her free time, she enjoys skiing, camping, climbing, painting and metal work.

Laura Fehrenbacher
Immigrant Affairs Advocate
As the Immigrant Affairs Advocate, Laura leads the administration of TCHNetworks’s immigration legal services program. Laura represents TCHNetwork on statewide and local coalitions seeking to advance racial and health equity in Colorado. Before taking this position, Laura worked with UPS, Mountain Village Gondola and most recently at the Uncomphagre Medical Center as a Medical Interpreter and Latinx Outreach lead. Having lived and worked in the immigrant community, Laura understands the complexities of the immigration system. Laura loves spending time with her daughter, her husband, Chris, and two grandchildren. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, swimming, bonfires, and wine in her free time.

Lauren Norton
Bilingual Community Organizer
Lauren was born and raised on the rainy Olympic Peninsula in Washington state and moved to Telluride in 2017 in search of sunshine, powder days, and a place to call home in the mountains. Since then, she has worked with a variety of organizations across the region, building strong cross-cultural relationships through her Spanish-speaking abilities and a deep commitment to community. Lauren is the Bilingual Community Organizer, working with the Multi-Cultural Advocacy team to offer immigration legal services to the local community. She teaches English classes during the off seasons, as well as bilingual yoga year-round at Wilkinson Public Library, and is also a certified birth and death doula, offering support through all of life's transitions to English and Spanish speakers alike. Outside of work, Lauren finds joy and grounding in nature. She loves skiing, hiking, and spending time with her beloved dog, Pancho.

Lisa Thomason
HIGH FIDELITY WRAPAROUND COORDINATOR
Lisa Thomason is the High-Fidelity Wraparound Facilitator for San Miguel and Ouray Counties. She has over 45 years working with children, youth, and families in various capacities. During Lisa’s time, she has provided services and oversight for children, youth, and adults in our most vulnerable populations. She has also acted as the Facilitator for several organizations and conferences. Lisa has been considered an expert on Early Childhood Development and Intervention and continues to work with children with autism through her Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst. She believes in the absolute importance of being connected to nature and how nature can guide you in sharing your gifts in service to others.

Loren Knobbe
Operations Administrator
As the Operations Administrator, Loren coordinates with all team members to support organization-wide efficacy and efficiency. Loren has a decade of experience in youth programming, having most recently served as the Program and Development Director for True North Youth Program. During her last six years in Telluride, Loren has also worked with a variety of nonprofit organizations to support operations and development. Loren has a BS in Environmental Science and has lived abroad in Panama and Spain. Loren believes in ongoing education and that continually developing one’s skillset can lead to great opportunity and growth. She is passionate about community well-being, and through her work at TCHNetwork, she hopes to embody the idea that health is more than healthcare. Loren enjoys spending time outdoors recreating with her family and friends - running, hiking, biking, paddling, camping and skiing… any adventure that includes her dog.
Matt Schroeder
CO-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of Operations
As Data Analyst, Matt manages all data and IT related matters for TCHNetwork. This includes leveraging health data to provide actionable insights for our internal programs and network members as well as developing and managing the systems TCHNetwork staff use to better serve our clients every day. Originally trained in economics, Matt has a strong background in data modeling, forecasting, and statistical analysis, as well as extensive experience in data visualization. He has a passion for the power of data to inform decision making and improve people’s lives. He has a Master’s in applied economics from John’s Hopkins University, and a Bachelor’s in economics from the University of Colorado – Boulder. When he’s not wrangling data Matt can probably be found in one of two places – working on his hobby farm in Montrose or cheering for his daughter at a fastpitch softball game.

Megan Wise
Regional Health Connector
Megan Wise is the Regional Health Connector for Tri-County Health Network, supporting Colorado’s Region 10 (San Miguel, Ouray, Montrose, Delta, Hinsdale, and Gunnison Counties). She is also a Certified Life Coach and Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider. After 12 years as a teacher in Telluride, she transitioned from the classroom into her current role in 2023. Her priority projects are managing our online resource directory and creating more grief support opportunities for the community(ies). As she continues to walk her own journey of grief, the work of her heart is to help support other grievers in the region. In Megan's downtime, she enjoys exploring the San Juans with her husband and dog, skiing, snowboarding, camping, and curling with the Telluride Curling Club. Melanie Montoya Wasserman
Co-Executive Director of Advocacy and Inclusion
Melanie Montoya Wasserman is the Co-Executive Director of Advocacy and Inclusion. She has over 20 years of experience working in non-profit and government sectors. She worked for 12 years at the San Miguel Resource Center, a domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center, first as the advocate manager and later as the co-executive director. She spent several years as a private practice psychotherapist. Most recently, she worked for the Town of Telluride as the housing director, overseeing affordable town-owned rental housing. Melanie has a masters in counseling psychology and an undergraduate degree in language studies. She is passionate about women's issues and working with our communities' Spanish speaking populations. She believes strongly in kindness and empathy, and hopes that her work with TCHN will foster healthier communities. In Melanie's downtime, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, hunting, surfing, and spending time with her family.

Melissa Johnson
West End Care Coordinator
Melissa has been a resident of the Nucla-Naturita area for more than 30 years. For the past seven years, she has been working at Montrose County Health and Human Services as an administrative assistant and WIC educator. Working with Montrose County allowed Melissa to gain knowledge about the resources available to the West End communities, which she found very fulfilling. Melissa is very passionate about her community and enjoys connecting residents with the necessary resources when the need arises. During her free time, Melissa loves spending time with her family fishing, camping, walking, or simply admiring the beautiful views of the area she calls home.

Michael Mowery
Data Systems Administrator
Michael Mowery is the Data Systems Administrator. Having graduated from University of Colorado with a degree in Computer Science Engineering, he has worked in many different industries for over 30 years. Michael enjoys using technology to help solve real-world problems. As a full-stack developer, his role also entails providing IT support for the team, setting up and maintaining the TCHN system, and creating and running reports to aid in data analysis. He moved to Telluride in 2004 and is excited to work for an organization that is passionate about helping the community. In Michael’s downtime, he enjoys attending many different festivals in Telluride, hiking/skiing in his beautiful backyard, and chasing light with his camera.

Nikki Janes
Medicaid Care Coordinator
Nikki is one of our Medicaid Care Coordinators. As a Medicaid Care Coordinator, she helps to facilitate and establish care and to assist and advocate for our clients. She has worked in the medical field for many years, starting out filing charts, documenting dictation, patient care, etc. She has held various positions from a receptionist to Certified Nursing Assistant, medical billing and posting payments, and Customer Service Representative. She loves serving others and helping in any way she can. She is always eager to learn and strives to improve, wanting to do more to help and always searching for additional resources. Additionally, she has a cosmetology license and likes to help others feel good about themselves. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, friends and church community and doing DIY projects and crafts.

Nyssa Berman
CTC Youth Coordinator 
Nyssa is originally from Chicago and has spent the past 10 years in Colorado, with the last three in the Southwest region. She brings over a decade of experience in outreach, logistics, wellness, trauma-informed bodywork, and international service. With a holistic and inclusive approach to youth leadership and development, Nyssa has led civic engagement teams, facilitated expressive arts workshops, and coordinated outreach programs centered on empowerment, equity, and mental well-being. She holds a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology and Fine Arts, along with certifications in Massage Therapy and Wellness Coaching. Nyssa is passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where young people can grow, lead, and thrive. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, live music, ceramics, and building community through social connection.

Randi is the Care Coordination Manager for Community Programs. She oversees Pathways, Aging and Disability Resources of Colorado, Palliative, Behavioral Health, and supports Medicaid Care Coordination programs. She has over 20 years of experience working within the Home and Community-Based health and human services industry. Randi graduated with a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), specializing in Organizational Leadership and Change Management. In Randi’s downtime, she enjoys anything involving the beautiful and adventurous outdoors we have here in Western Colorado.

Rasa Kaunelis
GRANT & EVALUATION ADMINISTRATOR
As the Grants and Evaluation Administrator, Rasa oversees grant writing, reporting, and program evaluation for TCHNetwork. Rasa previously worked for over 5 years as TCHNetwork’s Director of Strategic Initiatives. She moved into the part-time Grants and Evaluation Administrator position at TCHNetwork in 2021 after welcoming her child, Roksana, in 2020 and wanting to spend more time with family. Rasa has worked in the nonprofit sector since 2007, including past experience as the Director of Program Support at Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains and a Researcher at the Center for Policy Research. She has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado and a BA from Michigan State University. In her spare time, Rasa loves hanging out with her family and friends, enjoying all the outdoor activities our region has to offer, reading, and traveling.

Ruth Homan
COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER
Ruth has been the Community Health Worker for Telluride since 2019. She has operated Diabetic Retinopathy Clinics, the Food Rx program, and Cooking Matters classes, and is presently working in Pathways Care Coordination. Her degree is in Health Science from Western Colorado State University and holds certificates in Nutrition Coaching (Precision Nutrition) and Exercise Physiology (American College of Sports Medicine). Upon taking on the role of CHW, Ruth likes having the opportunity to help people address their health within all the social factors of well-being. Ruth believes that we can all maximize our health and thrive by taking care of ourselves in little ways every day. “We sometimes must overcome internal or external belief systems that keep us from being our healthiest selves.” In her spare time, Ruth loves to go hiking and snowshoeing with her dog, and spending time with family, whether that involves backpacking or binge-watching a few episodes on Netflix! she/her/hers

Sarah Curtis
Development Stategist
Sarah Curtis serves as the Development Strategist for Tri County Health Network, supporting the organization in efforts to diversify revenue, increase community support and build long term sustainability.  Sarah has nearly 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector and has worked in all aspects of organization and program management. Through various roles, she has built a depth of knowledge and experience in fundraising, from running large-scale events to organizing membership drives and community giving campaigns. Most recently, as Executive Director for All Points Transit, Sarah increased funding for the agency significantly, adding new sources of revenue and creating opportunities for expansion. Sarah believes that every member of our community should have access to healthcare and economic opportunity. She especially finds joy in seeking out creative collaborations that strengthen services for those in need. When she is not at work, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

Multicultural Policy & Advocacy Manager, Department of Justice (DOJ) Accredited Immigration Law Representative
Tabassum Siddiqui is a life-long community organizer, liberatory designer, DOJ accredited immigration law representative, ethical fashion designer of over 20 years, integrative health coach, trauma-conscious meditation guide, and fifth-generation community herbalist. In Fall 2025, she will begin her PhD studies in Community, Liberatory, Indigenous, and Eco Psychology. Rooted in her Islamic Sufi, Africana, and Indigenous traditions, she blends holistic healing, creative solutions, and advocacy to cultivate empowerment, wellness, and systemic change. Her work recognizes that true transformation is a patient process, requiring hope, love, nourishment, and fresh energy to break free from the paralysis of systemic oppression. Tabassum leads our bilingual Multicultural Advocacy team that includes our Immigration Legal Services Team. She's the co-founder of The Workers’ School and Raíces Sin Fronteras, a Latino and Indigenous-led movement amplifying the voices of marginalized communities across Colorado’s Western Slope. Together, they advance workers’ rights, language justice, and mental wellness—creating the nurturing environment and support communities of color need to tap into their own power and blossom forth, ensuring lasting and transformative change. Tabassum has also led numerous healing circles, meditations, and wellness programs, cultivating resilience, deep healing, and authentic spaces of belonging and transformation. She and her husband live on a farm in a yurt they built together, finding joy in hiking, kayaking, camping, and horseback riding with their horse, Phoenix.
