Tri-County Health Network acknowledges that finding accessible and affordable dental care in our rural region can be challenging. That is why we developed the Skippy kids’ mobile dental clinic as well as our Adult Medicaid Clinics. By bringing our mobile dental clinics to your, TCHNetwork removes the barrier to oral healthcare that our region faces.
Since 2008, TCHNetwork has partnered with regional schools to hold mobile clinics on their grounds. Serving kids from 0-18 throughout San Miguel, Ouray, Montrose & Delta counties twice every school year, Skippy has provided more than 7,000 cavity prevention treatments to local children since its inception and has lowered the percentage of children with untreated decay to 20%, 9% below the national average.
In 2011, Skippy received Colorado recognition by receiving the “Innovative School-Based Health Intervention” award from the Colorado Association of School-Based Healthcare out of 47 Colorado school-based healthcare centers.
Given the limited number of clinics accepting Medicaid insurance, TCHNetwork is currently working to expand our offerings of adult clinics to Ouray, Telluride, and Naturita. Stay tuned to learn more about this program as we solidify clinic locations and dates throughout the region.
As COVID continues to shape our daily lives, our Skippy Dental staff have been working hard to ensure that we can continue to safely provide dental care to students throughout our region. During the 2018 and 2019 Skippy seasons, our Skippy team was able to service 1,000 local kids.
Our team of professionals worked diligently and creatively in Fall 2020 to organize mobile clinics for kids in Norwood, Naturita, Nucla, Telluride, and Ouray with attention to COVID precautions and restrictions.
With a oral healthcare history rooted in innovation, we are proud that our mobile dental clinics can continue to provide an alternative for residents within our region to receive the oral care they need. We continue to work towards expanding our clinic services to adult clients throughout the region.
Help us purchase our dream Skippy Mobile!
Please help us move Skippy into the next decade with a donation towards a fully equipped mobile dental clinic van. With a van, Skippy can visit kids in need year round- at schools, camps, community clinics and so much more.
We will be fundraising throughout 2021 for the van purchase but want to kickstart the campaign with a goal of $5,000 in 2020. Please choose Colorado Gives Day when donating so that we can receive a portion of the Incentive Fund as a match on December 8, 2020!

Thank you for your consideration in helping us piece together our next dream as we continue to help our rural communities thrive.
