Each year, CCMU honors four community members who have made outstanding contributions to improve health care systems and provide care for the medically underserved. Paul has dedicated his time working at the Foundation, serving the rural communities in San Miguel, Ouray, and Montrose counties and initiating programs to meet the needs of the underserved populations. His accomplishments include: Developing programs to serve the immigrant community in San Miguel County, collaborating with regional medical providers to create the Local Health Initiative, which later became the Tri-County Health Network, initiating an early childcare initiative to address the lack of qualified and certified childcare in the community, implementing Telluride Venture Accelerator (TVA) to help diversify the economy and creating the Paradox Community Development Initiative, which provides business technical assistance as well as assistance to develop community endowment funds to four low-income and underserved communities in the region, including Norwood, Nucla/Naturita, Dove Creek, and Rico.
Congratulations Paul! You are truly a champion for our community!
